The story of this project began on 23 December 2021, when I decided to try exporting a stage from Blender to RBR. For my first test I chose Maják. As a Zlín local, I’ve always had a soft spot for this stage — it’s easy to access and both sporting-wise and spectator-wise very attractive. And that’s how my first experiments started. At the beginning I had no idea what would be required or whether I would ever get far enough to consider releasing the stage publicly.
After four years of learning, I reached the state you can see in the screenshots. This is of course not my primary job — more of a hobby for the evenings, with more or less time available depending on the period. Still, I’ve devoted a huge amount of time to Maják over the years and, with help from other creators, I’ve gradually worked my way through most parts of the workflow.
Right now, I have roughly four kilometers of road prepared, along with surrounding vegetation and solid objects. I’m gradually fine-tuning the wet version of the stage, the loose-surface variant, spectators, rally objects, and the distant terrain. There’s still plenty of work ahead, but by now I’ve tried most things and I’m confident I can bring the project to completion.
My first milestone is a five-kilometer version of the stage. The final touches are often the hardest part, so I don't want to promise a specific date. But I'd like to dive deeper into the development now and have this five-kilometer variant finished and released sometime next year.
